Our story
A personal experience with the diagnosis of a "lazy eye" within the family sparked a deep fascination with the neurological aspects of amblyopia. However, there was far less enthusiasm for the traditional methods commonly used to treat this condition.
This realization brought three founders together, each contributing complementary skills that seamlessly align. One excels in software development, another specializes in applying serious gaming to healthcare, and the third is an expert in bringing innovative ideas to market. Together, they developed the concept of addressing amblyopia in a playful yet effective way through specially designed games. This vision laid the foundation for Vedea Healthware, where technology, healthcare, and entrepreneurship converge.
To further develop this innovative approach into an effective treatment method, they quickly established collaborations with scientists, medical specialists, and renowned institutions, including the Rotterdam Eye Hospital and the associated Rotterdam Ophthalmic Institute.
Today, a multidisciplinary team of experts is dedicated to making the Vedea method a success. Their mission: to treat amblyopia in a child-friendly, innovative, and scientifically grounded way, ultimately improving the standard of care.
