The study aims to demonstrate that the Vedea approach is superior to conventional patching for the treatment of amblyopia in children. The main outcome parameter is visual acuity 16 weeks after the start of treatment. The initial control group starts as usual for 16 weeks, then uses the Vedea treatment for 16 weeks. After 16 weeks there will be an interim analysis. If occlusion yields better results than the Vedea approach, the study will be stopped and all participants will return to usual care.
