Vedea Healthware is officially a BV

Until now, Vedea was just an elaborate idea in the minds of its founders, but on October 24, 2019, Vedea Healthware BV officially saw the light of day. We are of course extremely happy and proud that we can now work under our own name to improve the care for children with amblyopia in the Netherlands and far beyond.

Of course, Vedea did not just appear out of thin air. It is a collaboration between inventor Daniel Jansen and Joel Wijngaarde of the Amsterdam software company Us Media and Teun Aalbers of the Utrecht game studio GainPlay Studio. Together, these parties have all the knowledge and expertise on board to make Vedea a great success. Founder Daniel Jansen is first and foremost the father of a daughter with amblyopia and has therefore seen and felt for himself what occlusion therapy does to a child and to the parent-child relationship. Within Vedea, he combines his personal experiences with his background in digital and sales to bring the Vedea method to the attention of parents and children who are now walking the same path as Daniel a few years ago.

With Us Media, Vedea has acquired a very reliable software developer with years of experience in building custom applications and platforms for (medium) large clients in the commercial and non-profit sectors. Joel Wijngaarde will be responsible for building and supporting the platform and data management from Us Media.

GainPlay Studio has an extensive and proven track record when it comes to game innovation in healthcare. For over ten years, GainPlay has been combining the latest hardware with game experiences that match the wishes and possibilities of players of all ages. Teun Aalbers, with his background in scientific research, will seek the connection with the field from GainPlay Studio. Jan Jonk, partner in GainPlay Studio, is responsible for the development of the games and other experiences that give color to the Vedea method.
